The first phase of the new Pomphrey Hill Pavilion project consists of single storey sports changing-rooms, sufficient for four teams and associated officials, with a small refreshment room, first aid provision, and storage for sports equipment.

The roof finish of corrugated metal is typically agricultural, and external masonry walls with facing bricks will be robust and traditional. Each team changing room will have a metal-faced solid timber door, with similar metal-faced doors protecting the refreshment servery and the equipment store.

The roof will project over the changing room entrances to provide a dry and hard paved surface for knocking off mud from boots outside the building. The building is designed to minimise the risks from vandalism, without openings for natural lighting.
