Following a feasibility study that considered alternative locations for a new childrenís centre at Corsham Primary School, a preferred location was selected placing the childrenís centre in a prominent position, as a separate facility at the front of the Primary School site.

The form of the existing building, with roof slopes appearing as folded wings inspired the form for the new roof as opening wings at a smaller scale, which offer a sheltered approach to the new entrance.

The choice of buff-coloured render complements the stone-coloured blocks of the main building, with the blue-coloured timbers and darker roof giving emphasis to the new roof form. The glazed screen of the entrance doors leads into a spacious entrance hall, with easy access to the new facilities.
